Looking for a way to support your favorite local non-profit? Look no further than the Next Generation Giving Circle!
The Next Generation Giving Circle, or NGGC, is a network of young professionals in the Merrimack Valley who are passionate about pooling resources to support nonprofits and community initiatives. ”This is an exciting new program of the Greater Lowell Community Foundation,” said Ray Riddick, Executive Director of the Greater Lowell Community Foundation. “We’re thrilled to provide an opportunity for the next generation of leaders in Lowell to give back to the community.”
“Our mission is to mobilize young professionals to support initiatives that make our community a better place,” said co-chair of the committee, Amsi Morales.
The NGGC will be hosting its first Challenge Night on October 2nd from 6-8 at Garcia Brogan’s in Lowell. At the event, nominated organizations will pitch why their organization is most deserving of earning a mini-grant. That evening votes will be cast to decide which non-profit organization will receive a mini-grant. To enter a non-profit as a nominee, visit the Greater Lowell Community Foundation website and fill out a nomination form. Eligible organizations must be local, arts & culture focused non-profits. The deadline for entries will be Tuesday, August 7th at noon.
“The point of NGGC is to make philanthropy fun and social for young professionals, so that it becomes a habit. We really want to make an impact in our community, but we don’t yet have the financial means to make larger personal donations, so working together makes it happen,’ said Jessica Wilson, Executive Director of LTC.org and founding committee member.
Membership to the NGGC is an affordable $120 per year with your membership fees going to support the non-profit. Membership provides free admittance to the Challenge Night event and a vote for your favorite arts & culture non-profit. Non-members can attend Challenge Night ($25 for non-members) on October 2nd and receive a vote as well.
