Are you in close contact with an infant under 12 months of age? If so, come get your FREE vaccination against Pertussis. Pertussis or “Whooping Cough” is a highly contagious disease that can easily be spread through a simple cough or sneeze. While adults recover with little concern, infants are at high risk.
Infected adults may experience cold-like symptoms such as coughing, vomiting, or fatigue. Infants endure violent coughing, earaches, slow breathing, and dehydration. Severe coughing in infants can lead to seizures, brain damage, or death.
Studies show that those in close contact with infants are responsible for up to 83% of known infant cases. In order to protect your infant, simply receive your free Tdap vaccine.
Vaccinations will be available at the Lowell Health Department on Fridays from 1-4 pm at 341 Pine Street 1st Floor in the Conference Room and may be administered to anyone 19 and older.
For other times available by appointment call 978-674-4308.
