Mother nature is heralding the first day of summer with a big blast of heat. Celebrate the official summer kick-off with a trip over to the Splash Pad at Shedd Park. The Splash Pad is open from noon – 4 pm, seven days a week.
As in the past, the pools and riverfront open on July 1st. School just ended and the lifeguards, all Red Cross certified, are preparing for a safe and fun summer with training and water safety instruction courses. Once training is completed the pools at McPherson, South Common will be open for free swim from noon – 6 pm daily. See the Recreation Programs website for information on free swim lessons.
