Like daffodils and tulips, Lowell residents rise up every spring to help beautify Lowell’s parks, roadways and other public spaces. This year, fourteen Saturday cleanup projects are scheduled beginning Saturday, April 14 through June 2.
Spearheaded by individual citizens and neighborhood groups, these grassroots initiatives tap into a wealth of community pride to remove litter and debris, sweep away sand, weed park gardens and rake park lawn areas. The Neighborhood Services office provides coordination with various departments for post cleanup pickup of trash bags and debris.
“Year after year Lowell’s residents and neighborhood and civic organizations, demonstrate their indefatigable team spirit through on-the-ground efforts like these,” said City Manager Bernie Lynch. “Their energy and initiative are very helpful and much appreciated.”
Organizers of each cleanup invite residents willing to spend a few hours helping with a project in their neighborhood to meet at one of the following cleanup sites:
